2LT Kyle Brooks: Each and every Branch of the Military has its own brand of self-worth that is typically unique to them, although there is certainly some overlap in Mission for several of the branches. I can only speak for the Marines, let the others speak for themselves. We feel that our Esprit De Corps is second to none. We are ALL basic riflemen and our first and primary mission is amphibious warfare. I served alongside some of the Navy's Finest for years. They have a different job and they are a different breed. They do not want our jobs and we do not want theirs. Why would anyone want to put me in dungarees or crackerjacks. And I certainly WILL NOT share our Dress Blues with anyone. I notice you are a Health Services Officer, great we need fantastic Doctors, Nurses, and Medics in the service. But, you do not perform the same function as an Army Ranger Paratrooper or an Naval Submariner, why dress like one. We all choose our professions for a variety of reasons and many (ME) do not want to dress like the others, No Thank You, Sir.

Thx for the detailed answer! I agree with your post. My answer to the survey was “yes with variants” accounting for the Dress and Ceremonial uniforms accounting for each branch’s unique history and mission.

With gender neutral PFT, why not? It no longer matters except in Special OPs.
The only real question is what color? I think PINK is in order!

This may bring unity among the branches of the military.
