Does anyone have any experience with a Contour GPS Helmet mounted camera?

Our supply room has held onto these cameras for years without using them(the videos on them were from 2008) and I was wondering if anyone has ever used them efficiently before. I'm trying to develop some new ways to teach CLS or 68W skills with it, but I do not want to buy a GoPro or 100 mph tape it to an ACH. The two pictures show what I think is required to effectively mount it to ones ACH, but I cannot find a NSN for either item. What I'm really asking is, 1. Have you ever used one and was it efficient? Are the items required to mount to an ACH more likely a civilian item or do you think they could be ordered through supply? Thank you for your time.

Others have said Gov Credit card, however you can also call the Manufacturer and ask them what the NSN is, if it has one. They WILL know it. They want these things to move, and getting an NSN assigned is a "Holy Grail" item for a Government Vendor.

As TSgt David L. has already mentioned, if you have justification enough and your unit has a Government Purchase Card, you should be able to have what you need commercially procured without going through MILSTRIP process.

Revision makes a great mount like in your picture, mine was in coyote color.

Ask PEO Soldier (if it still exists). They will have the NSN (if assigned). You can use a DD 1348-6 to request the parts you need if you have the part numbers and a manufacturer. I think it is an A0B DIC (part number requisition). I'm not sure how you do this in GSS Army if you are using that software system now. I've been out for a decade so I'm a bit rusty. If you can't do the above, and your command will approve the request, contact the manufacturer directly and use a GPC to make a micro contracting purchase. Hope that helps.

Try with a civilian vendor. Just call them and ask them for a quote with GOV rate and tax exemption for the ACH ARC Helmet Rail system. Get a GPC request form approved and buy the items. I haven't seen those rails on MILSTRIP yet. Please let me know if you find an NSN for them.

You will have a harder time trying to get them thro pause due to them getting classified as Non expendable. Bust advice I can give you is to have supply purchase it with a GPC Card and the then all they have to do is put in the book then trying to get a property book purchase make take to long or won't happen

The rail mounts work very well with the contour, and should be more than secure enough for what your looking at.

SGT (Join to see)
Just saw this post. The best advice due to rules and regs, is to see if it has an nsn, if it does it will need to be ordered that way since the army is start to get more strick about purchasing items on gpc if they can be ordered with an nsn. If it does not, then the GPC card can be used for the purchase. Best bet is to ask your supply sgt, and Gpc holder for the unit for assistance.
