The presumption I've encountered with some of my troops is that the spouse in the NG, if relocated stateside, can do an interstate transfer to a NG unit where he AD spouse is relocated to.

I'm not understanding, "use her rank over yours". She's in the NG, she can't dictate anything. If she wishes to transfer NG units to where you will be stationed and a unit nearby will take her, that's great she will need to coordinate that with her unit and IST coordinator of her state and the other state.

Each service branch has their own policies regarding dual military.

Is she title 10 AGR? If not than she can transfer state to state pretty easy. If she is is AGR then she needs to call the assignment officer and comain. I am not AGR but I work with a lot that are, and they are frustrated with how people get assigned.

I am AGR in the Virginia Guard, if you want to send me a message with some more details I could probably give you a better answer than trying to respond to the question here as it was somewhat vague.

I am a air national guard member in Ohio, but my fiance is active duty, stationed in Georgia. Should i consider trying to go active before me marry or should i should i look into transferring to a GA unit. I am a traditional guardsmen so AGR job slots aren't a problem, just looking for any help or guidance. Thx
