Does it bother you when someone says "Happy Memorial Day?"

I personally get frustrated (hate it) when someone tells me happy memorial day; it started today. So, today, I corrected the first person to say that this year. Am I too uptight?
Memorial Day means something very different too us, than it does to most Americans; the other 99.55%.

As long as PBS has the Memorial Day Concert and the Veterans Day Concert and makes them both the SAME format, we will never be able to educate the American people about the difference. And since we say Happy Veterans Day, then why would people not say Happy Memorial Day - they look the same to most people.
PBS could do so much to educate by separating the two and stop showcasing and thanking Veterans on Memorial Day. I keep hoping Gary Sinise might wake up and help change the format, but it never happens. This year even the USO has used Memorial Day for a campaign to "Thank a Veteran"...EVEN the USO cannot get it right....Et tu Brute....

What's happy about it? I usually respond to happy dead soldiers day to you too.

Would you not agree that many people expressed happiness on the day it was commissioned a holiday? No Memorial Day holiday vs Memorial Day Holiday? It made people happy that the day was set aside to remember those we've lost, not happy for the loss.
