My close friend and I are planning on enlisting together and getting the Buddy Team option. However, we are both trying to get Option 40 contracts. Will we go to Airborne School and RASP together? Our recruiter said you go to your first duty station together as well. Does this mean we will go to the same Ranger battalion as well?

Jacob Deitrick, assuming everything goes perfectly...sure. Assume it isn't going to. Unless you are both physical specimens of statuesque proportions, one or both of you could be injured or recycled in the number of schools you have in front of you. There are a bunch of other admin hurdles in the way as well. The Army will try to live up to the contract, but there are a ton of things you or your buddy could do that could throw that off. Do your best. When you get to your first duty assignment, it's in the air. Depends how your orders are cut. Unless there is something in the contract that says you will be stationed in the same unit, I wouldn't put money on it. The chances of you being in the same platoon is highly unlikely. Same company, maybe. Same battalion, a better chance. Nothing is for sure though. Besides, once you get to your platoon, especially if you make it all the way to on of the Ranger Battalions, your platoon will be your new family.

Yes it is possible, so is being superman in disguise. 1st off, there is absolutely 0 guarantee that you both will make it thru Abn and Rasp. Abn school- has it's share of failures- RASP as well. Most Ranger classes (after RASP) have a 40-60% fail rate. Go for the gusto, but be prepared.
