How do you feel about the Generals supporting the Iran Nuclear plan. Do you think they understand the agreement better because they are Generals? My thoughts are, if they can understand the agreement and Obama's plan for the long haul, they're smarter than all of us.

Three dozen retired generals and admirals released an open letter Tuesday supporting the Iran nuclear deal and urging Congress to do the same.

Calling the agreement “the most effective means currently available to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons,” the letter said that gaining international support for military action against Iran, should that ever become necessary, “would only be possible if we have first given the diplomatic path a chance.”

“the most effective means currently available to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.” Translated; We have a very weak POTUS who has no balls and will not stand strong or use force to keep the peace. END OF STATEMENT, OUT.

SFC Douglas Duckett, And leaving the civilians in prison, out of the deal. Saying he didn't want to blow the deal if he asked them to include the hostages. BS. You're correct, he doesn't have any balls . Never has, never will.

I have tried to find out as much as possible about the deal. Whether it had a chance in hell to accomplish it's objectives. Personally I don't care for the deal. Was it our best option? Was our only other option war? I really don't know the answers to those questions. But I do know the big reason Iran was at the table was because they needed the sanctions lifted. I'm not really even sure Iran was that close to a nuclear weapon. Iran has the largest and most diverse ballistic missile arsenal in the Middle East. (Israel has more capable ballistic missiles, but fewer in number and type.) Most were acquired from foreign sources, notably North Korea. The Islamic Republic is the only country to develop a 2,000-km missile without first having a nuclear weapons capability.
Iran is still dependent on foreign suppliers for key ingredients, components and equipment, but it should eventually be able to develop long-range missiles over time, including an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile or ICBM. The military utility of Iran’s current ballistic missiles is limited because of poor accuracy, so missiles are not likely to be decisive if armed with conventional, chemical or biological warheads. But Tehran could use its missiles as a political or psychological weapon to terrorize an adversary’s cities and pressure its government. Iran should not be able to strike Western Europe before 2014 or the United States before 2020—at the earliest. Iran’s space program, which includes the successful launch of a small, crude satellite into low earth orbit using the Safir carrier rocket, proves the country’s growing ambitions and technical prowess.

I heard something about 10 million dollars. And even if we are told it will go to the people of Iran I'm pretty sure we know better. Much of the money will go to their defence coffers. And I don't believe the deal does anything about the ICBM technologies. I still believe the G-5 + 1 had all the cards and showed their hand to early. But I will concede I'm not sure if a better deal could have been negotiated. Trust is one of the biggest issues I have with Iran.

None of their citizens are going to get a dime of that money. We know they're blowing smoke up Kerry's dress. I really do hope the deal doesn't come back to bite us in the ass. I don't trust them either.

“the most effective means currently available to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.”

Really? If you read the agreement you will find ht all it truly does is give them billions of dollars and a timeline for achieving a Nuke.

That timeline is MUCH, much longer than the current one. It also includes incentives to not get that nuke. The alternatives are WWIII or roll over.

But it is a timeline. Why are we suddenly negotiating with state sponsors of terrorism? Why are we releasing Billions to a country that chants Death to America? Why do we give them any hope of getting a Nuke? Do you and these retired Generals and Admirals realize it does nothing but set off a weapons race in the Mid East?
Sorry but I would rather bomb them into the bronze age.

I see, and they would never dare take an Embassy and hold it's staff hostages for 400+ days? Nor would they hold four Americans hostage during these so called negotiations. I'm not buying it. Something is rotten in Denmark

There are many possibility that Iran may not abide by the agreement and then again it may. No one can predict the future. As long as consequences are in place in case Iran back out of the agreement. I know Israel isn't going to do a damn thing. That country just want to sit idling by while we fight the war for them.

As long as there is a Democrat in the White House the chance of us going to war is slim to none, however, if a Republican somehow made it to the White House, we will be going to war.

Why make it political ? Oh, and we can't see the future, true. History says Iran does not honor deals made with infidels.
