Are you happy or sad to see the change?

I only had the Greens... i got the same crappy uniform in BLUE when I transfered to the Air Force..... it is nothing more than a business suit (a cheap one at that) with ribbons and such hanging off it....I really like the looks of the Army Blues and the MC dress uniforms. Not sure what the Navy has (lots less exposure to that for me...). I can only hope that the AF does not change uniforms in the next 2 years....as much as I DON'T like it, I don't want to buy a new one before I retire!

Pissed off that we changed from the great Khakis to green. Then I go out and purchase my Blues for DRESS occasions only to have them as the norm now. I like it. The greens were awful, along with the Disco BDUs! Loved my OG 107s in the 82nd! Airborne Forever!!!!

We need a better class B uniform. Current class B looks like an ice-cream man. Dont approve of utility uniforms for an office or public environment (except at field-type demonstrations) We need a good professional-looking class B perhaps like the old khaki or even better a WW2 type khaki with an optional Ike jacket when its cooler.

LTC (Join to see) Agreed. One of the problems with the ASU is that it is expected to serve in mutlple roles, from a casual business out, Class Bs, up to tuxedo level, with the bow tie.
Here’s the problem. You wouldn’t take a tuxedo, and then downgrade just the top to a short sleeve button up (pants, shoes stay the samea..appropriate for a tuxedo) and expect it to look professional. If you went to work dressed like that, you’d get sent home for dressing like a maniac.
I know the Army wants to streamline uniforms. But simply up/down grading a tuxedo doesn’t cut it. If you want a business casual outfit for Soldiers, get with a men’s/women’s fashion house and some military historians, and have them collaborate and design one.
But trying to downgrade to business casual class Bs from full ASUs (which can be worn in lieu of a tuxedo) is nonsense. Of course it looks unprofessional. Because that’s actually unprofessional behavior.
Just some thought. Best of luck.

I never wore blues. As a former paratrooper I will say that jump boots look much better and more natural in greens vs blues.

The Army Green Uniform is still current, but only until next summer unless they extend the deadline again

Sad. We look like the Navy. Green has always been the color to separate the Army from other branches. Also, Blues have no unit patch on them .... no way of telling what unit someone's in ... there aren't any unit patches on it. Just the DUI...

Not true, look at your history. The US Army Service Uniform is very old. I think even older than the current US Navy Officer Blues......Plus your not wearing "whites" like the Navy Junior NCOs do.

Yeah, but for all of my living age (I am 23) the U.S. Army has been portrayed in Green's. Still, I think the ASU's should have unit patches on them.

I'm Veterin of the AF but think the Green and pink uniform reminiscent of wwII is Good. My Cousin Jimmy Merrell served as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne and made several combat jumps! Jimmy looked Great in his paratrooper uniform! With blouses jump boots and Glider patch.

Hate both, now that I am retired I see the Sergeant Major of the Army wearing the Pink and Greens, I hope it goes that way. I really do! Hats off to him for being bold enough to push it!

I like the greens. All the services look too similar now with our dress blue uniforms.
