Time for some real, deep down, from the heart, honest truth from you squared jawed super troopers. What was your favorite Chow / Mess hall food? Mine. . . I'd cut the line in front of 1SG just to get my hands on some of that lip smacking, belly scratching, rib sticking CHILI MAC. You had a favorite. You know you did. What was it?

I was aboard an Air Craft Carrier for most of my enlistment so we had a pretty decent selection and it didn't really matter if we were in port or at sea, except at sea we didn't have the Krispy Kreme Pies and fresh eggs/milk would run out within 2 weeks.
S.O.S. was, is, and always will be my favorite chow from the Navy.
In no particular order after that;
Sliders
Omelettes made to order
Chicken and Dumplings
Fried Chicken
Smothered Pork Chops

Those times in Garrison when the food was coming to you because you weren't going to the Chow Hall(too much bench work to be done)? Burrito with Chili off the Camp Lejuene Food Truck that serviced the Industrial Area - I'd eat one of those RIGHT NOW!
Whatever chicken they served with brown gravy and potatoes at the French Creek Mess Hall - Funny thing, never any Seagulls hanging around on those days....
MRE's, well, I may have taken a few too many bumps on the head, but other than "Captains Chicken" or some such BS like that, I never met an MRE I didn't like. Now, anytime you're living on them for more than 3 weeks, they get old... but that's different than just not liking them.

It would depend on if I was deployed or in garrison. Deployed it was Mongolian stir fry. Didn't get it very often but we would try to plan convoys around it.in garrison breakfast omletes or the salad bar.
