So I have a 2+2 contract which obligates me to do reserves after 2 years active. However, Im about to ETS from active but I am flagged for adverse action, but it looks like my summarized article 15 was kicked back/denied by legal.

Now what would happen if I were to ETS with my flag stil active? Would I still get an honorable discharge?

But how would I finish my 2 year reserve obligation if I'm not able to sign with the reserves because of my flag?

The flag isn't really going to affect anything. If your were barred then you would not be able to return to the military. Once the adverse action is completel they will have to left it. You can't ETS with a pending adverse action. They can dismiss it or extend you until it's complete.

I can't see anyone wanting to do the paperwork to extend a guy for a Summarized Article 15. I would just tell is Platoon Sergeant to hit him with some extra duty, tell him not to do it again (whatever it was) and let him ETS.

How long would they extend me for if I reach my ETS while still flagged?

SPC (Join to see) - The correct answer to that question is until it's been resolved. However, the maximum that you can get on a Summarized Article 15 is 14 days extra duty and 14 days restriction, and an oral reprimand. At your rate, any grade Article 15 stays in the local file until you ETS or PCS and then it's destroyed. I just don't see your command putting out the effort to extend you for that minor of a punishment.

Depends on the FLAG code. Some codes are transferable. The form (I'm not recalling the #) spells out which ones are transferable or not. If your flag is non-transferable, then you would stay put until the flag is lifted.

I think it is flag code A: Adverse action. Any idea if this is transferable or not?

Depends on what the flag is about. Did they kick the Summarized back because they think is was too lenient or because it was too harsh? If you have a legal flag, they can hold you past your ETS to resolve it and the characteristics of your discharge would depend on how it was resloved. If they stay with administrative punishment, even at Field Grade, it won't effect an honorable discharge.

It was kicked back for not enough evidence from legal. It is an adverse action flag for a potential pending summarized article 15.

SPC (Join to see) A summarized article 15 is a slap on your hand and telling you not to screw up any more. It won't follow you when you ets anyway. You can talk to your chain, but I seriously doubt that they will hold you past ets if they don't complete it by then.
