VA glass frames are worthless. The lenses pop out and quite frankly I don’t think the exams you get are worth a damn either.

I had issues with the lenses popping out also. I went back and they got me new lenses cut to the right size.

Of All The Problems I've Had With Our North Las Vegas VA,
And I've Had A Ship- Load Of Them, Including Medical Screw-Ups And
Prescribed Medication For Conditions I Did NOT Have, And Totally Missing
An Illness I DID Have Which Required Emergency Surgery In The ER Coupled
With Being Hospitalized For A Couple Days Short of a MONTH, And Damned Near Dying
BUT As For The Eye Glasses? NOT Even ONE Problem In Over A 30 Years Period..
Not Even, As Mom Would Say: "A Poke In The Eye With A Sharp Stick:" ~

The first time I didn't pay anything for my glasses and I also got protective goggles. But the last 2 years I paid to get glasses I wanted from their rack and this time I bought 2 pairs. I broke a pair and didn't have a good pair that I could wear and see properly so I asked to get a extra pair just in case. If they don't have what you like you can always order from their provider.

The frames available at VA is part of the contract between the VA and the vendor. If a specific type frame one would prefer and obtainable, but it is not part of the contract. This would be considered a special order. In this case you would have to pay. Since I was never satisfied with choices available by the vendor. I have for many years with prescription in hand from the VA have purchased my frames/lenses outside of the VA. It's hassle free. Glasses are ready in days not weeks. I am 100% connected.
