This video was sent to us by a lady out of the Reno, Nevada area. This guy was walking around pretending he was a Marine. When asked for his name he responded that, "He was on High Alert, and couldn't give that out."
He then said he was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, which have been deactivated sine 1970. The Marines do have a 26th MEU(Marine Expeditionary Unit), but it doesn't have a 3rd Battalion.
He was trying to get a discount on or a free venue for his wedding using the claims.

He is on high alert... He looks legit... This one makes sad, actually, because that dude is actually got mental issues... Very sad. And nice mouth... She is a gem...

Never argue with a crazy person. Some people might not be able to tell the difference. This guy was suffering from some flavor of mental illness. He was not walking around in dress blues with a Navy Cross from Operation Phantom Alpha Dog. Probably just needed something warm to wear waiting for the methadone clinic to open up. I am all for calling out Stolen F-ing valor but I am not sure this guy fits the profile.

Sounds like a dependa to me... just sayin.. My boyfriend, my friends...blah blah blah... so the uniform is outdated...doesnt mean he didnt serve back in the day. a lot of stones being thrown with not a lot of info.

There is absolutely no doubt this man suffers from mental injury and could very well believe his own story. I do not condone his wearing of the uniform but that women was definitely out of line. Especially, since she didn’t serve herself. If I was there I would have had a bigger problem with her. Wish people knew what stolen valor truly was.

Her reaction was just as bad as his wearing cammies in public. The Marine Corps does not authorize the wearing of cammies except to and from your residence and duty station. And she did not need to go off half cocked and raise her voice at him and use foul language. If she were my spouse I would wash her mouth out with Ivory soap just like my Grandmother did to me when I talked like that. Semper Fi. GySgt USMC (Retd) '65-'85.
