This video was sent to us by a lady out of the Reno, Nevada area. This guy was walking around pretending he was a Marine. When asked for his name he responded that, "He was on High Alert, and couldn't give that out."
He then said he was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, which have been deactivated sine 1970. The Marines do have a 26th MEU(Marine Expeditionary Unit), but it doesn't have a 3rd Battalion.
He was trying to get a discount on or a free venue for his wedding using the claims.

SGT Mary Martel - Your comment reminded me of encounter I had in the Vogelweh Commissary while I was in Germany. The express lane at lunch time military in uniform could go to the head of the line. Probably about six of us were in line and this well dressed lady in civvies came running up by passing all of us saying I am Mrs. General so and so. Using her husband's rank trying to go to the head of the line. The cashier was having none of that and proceeded to explain the facts of military life to her. I knew this particular cashier her husband was a SSGT in the Army. We all had a good laugh. This is a true story HDQTR USAFE Ramstien AB is right down the road from Vogelweh with a boatload of General Officers.

Well for one thing unless the Marine corp has changed the regulation's he would know that Marine's are not allowed to wear the combat uniform in a civilian area, that is not on a u.s Base. and second, The condition of his uniform is shameful. plus any Marine know's that if he were on high aleart as he stated he would not be off Base. he would be in a ready area.awaiting his order's !! this man had better have a mental reason for posing as a Marine because if a Real Marine were have cought him doing this it would have been a very hard day for him for sure... to wear the Uniform of a Marine you must earn that right. I did and it is not a easy thing to do but when you complete boot camp and you are told you are now a part of a Brother hood, you are now a U.S. MARINE THERE IS NO BETTER FEELING. Semper Fi To all my Brother's and sisters ooooorah.

Am I the only one that noticed his lack of cover outside? Yes, he obviously has mental problems, Captain Obvious. The woman that called him out has a gutter mouth; it's tough trying to keep that up and I've yet to see anyone comment when a male uses strong language. At least she remained in her car... Keep the car between you and him until you are sure he is not a threat or one you can handle. With that said, someone needs to give her some mindfulness training.

You are right that a man shouldn't talk that way either. But let's face it, we are Neanderthals and we think women are humans. Many of us think women are still the better half of the species.

I agree with the majority of people that replied to this video. I believe there is a mental issue involved. The guy might even be homeless and picked that uniform up from a donatio center. Regardless he was in the wrong. The female also shouldn't have kept feeding into the argument. I woukd just call the cops and let a judge figure it out. Freedom. Justice. AMERICA.

He may be crazy; he may be suffering from ptsd and has had to self medicate (in one form or another); but I see no Stolen Valor here. I see a man in BDU’s on an empty street and a woman who may have revealed too much about her “boyfriend, husb...friends”

I agree with the Colonel, just listening to his verbal response, you can tell he's mentally ill. Just because she's a girlfriend and has friends, she has no call to make the claim of stolen valor. If she really thinks there is a problem call the police, but using that level of language is wrong. I still have all of my old uniforms, from 1985 to 2005. I gave my first field jacket to my son, while he doesn't wear it very often, he does on occasion, does that make him someone seeking stolen valor. To me, as a woman vet, stolen valor only happens when the individual gets monetary and health benefits by falsifying records. I think had she talked to him in a proper, civilized manner, I would feel differently, but her claims could be just as false. Had she talked to him calmly she would have likely gotten farther... How do we know he's not believing he is his father who may have served in that unit? We Don't. Stolen Valor is a real issue, but this is just a man who needs mental health and a woman who needs a strong lesson in tact and diplomacy.

The valor police are for worse than those who are pretending. This Man could have been a veteran that now mentally ill... If not a veteran, he is mentally ill..
