Vets
I wanted to take a moment and publicly applaud the entire Farmers Insurance veteran hiring team. Today, they hired their 100th veteran since launching their CEO level supported campaign a year ago.
Much of this charge has been led by one of RallyPoint's top voted civilian recruiters Lucas Buck and his national military recruiting team. We want to give you all a big salute from RallyPoint to your team. We truly appreciate the dedication and support you bring to our service members each day. Congrats on reaching the century mark and cheers to your road to 1,000!

To Lucas Buck and the entire team at Farmers Insurance, congratulations! This is a huge win for both the Farmers team and for the veteran community.

If you are an RP member and you are seeking civilian employment be sure to check out Farmer's company page on RallyPoint, they are hiring not just veterans but have a specific focus on RallyPoint veterans - it's absolutely worth throwing your hat in the ring!

As one of those actually in the picture... Farmers has been a Outstanding through this entire journey! I was lucky enough to be able to do the Seed/Acquisition program and I am set to open my office this Friday! Huge thanks to District Manager #47, Ed Reed and Team with setting a huge goal, and being their the entire way!

Maj Jamie Johnson - It's an honor to have one of the distinguished members of this initiative here among us! There is nothing that says "military friendly" like the sincere words of a veteran in a company's workforce. Cheers to you and the Farmers family for this excellent kickstart!

Well done Lucas Buck and the Farmers team. It's nice to connect with you at our local events in Texas.

For the first time in recent memory, we are seeing veteran unemployment rates plunge.
In the past, the vet unemploment rate exceeded the non veteran unemployment rate by a healthy margin.

Now, because of companies like Farmers and the efforts of those individuals, a sustainable difference is being made. Kudos!

Let me tell you, being a insurance agent is tough! My brother was a Farmers agent here in SoCal, and with the population base here in LA County, you would think it would be easy...oh ...NO! Its not. He worked tremendous hours, little return, and if it wasn't for his wife becoming an "independent" agent (she had high risk auto), they could not make it. I visited and spent 20 days in the office with them prior to retirement. Could not be more impressed by their professionalism, but the hours? Complaints! Griping! Emergency night calls! Oh..man. One day a huge guy wearing all black leather, chains, pit helmet under his arm, and probably 280 lbs of mean walked into the office, swearing at my bro's wife (she was the office clerk) pounding the counter demanding to know why they had cancelled his insurance...really pissed off. I stood up to help him out the door, my bro stopped me saying; "Charlie! Let me handle this." (quietly) I said; "Jim you can't handle this guy, I can but you have no training." He said; "This is my work, it's what I do."

So, I backed off ready to run over to help. Jim walked over, calm, quiet, apologetic, and in less then 5 minutes had that guy signing a new contract, collected 2,000 in cash and the guy walked out after shaking his hand. Holy Smoothies (being nice here), lol.

I asked him what in the heck did you do? He said, "I lied". I told him the "company" dumped him, I would help him get insurance and signed him up with another high risk policy. That puts 900 in my pocket immediately and the company gets the rest. .... how could I get mad at someone who pays me 900 for 5 minutes work?

If you become an insurance agent, its a job, but many make it by networking, long hours, and basically, having the same work ethic as the military.
