Col Lindsey Graham (USAFR Ret.) announced is entrance into the Presidential elections. What does RP think of his chances? Do you personally support him?

Totally not a fan of Graham. AF or not, personally I think most politicians are BS

Nope. Not a fan of Lindsey Graham at all. I question his sanity. There are plenty of potential candidates with military experience I'd rather see run.

I agree CW3 (Join to see). The more I read about Graham the less I'm inclined to support him.

He wasn't in the military. He was in the USAF. BTW, you know what's the best thing about being in the AF? At least you can still make fun of the Coast Guard. Ba-domp domp

i know its all in good fun and i totally make fun of the other services too, but it is interesting to note that i have been through AF BMT as well as Army BCT and i found the AF training to be difficult.

I think the hardest part of AF BMT for me would be the First Aid for Airmen. Do you know how hard it is to apply a field dressing for hurt feelings? Ba-domp domp domp

i suppose it is hard to fix butt-hurt. however, the army isn't even allowed to hurt the Private's feelings anymore, let alone their body. 90% of my day was spent sitting on bleachers.

what a JOKE this coward bitch is...Republican in name only he has long since done anything remotely Patriotic - NEXT - lets get a REAL Man with experience and a TRUE PATRIOT even Today...Col. Allen Bernard West is an American political commentator, former member of the United States House of Representatives, and retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel. A member of the Republican Party, he represented Florida's 22nd congressional district in the House from 2011 to 2013.

I'm supporting Senator Ted Cruz. He is a Constitutional Conservative who is a strong Christian, believes in the rule of law and has great respect for the military. I don't have anything against Lindsey Graham but I'm not interested in an establishment Republican.

I'm a Libertarian myself, but my party doesn't have a strong candidate (yet). I'll probably end up supporting Rand Paul, even though I don't see completely eye to eye with him. Hell, I don't see eye to eye with his old man and he IS a Libertarian (Ron Paul).
Probably the 2 things I don't agree with him on are abortion (I'm not pro-choice but I'm not completely pro-life either if that makes sense) and gay marriage (I'm not gay but support their right to marriage).

Thanks for the input LTC (Join to see). I never actually heard about Lindsey Graham before this so I haven't had too much time to research him.
What you just posted helped me decide to not personally support him. Of course, I am a Libertarian so I have a hard time getting behind a Republican to begin with!

Like most Republicans, What has he done for Veterans? How many times has he voted against us? I would probably have more respect for him if he came out of the Closet Too.

You're kidding, right? "Like most Republicans"? About 90 seconds worth of research will show you that just military pay raises under Republicans averages 3.5% annually since '84 compared to 2.6% for dems. That inlcudes the sub 2% raises for the past 5 yrs. I'm no fan of Lindey Graham for sure, but maybe you want to clarify your statement.

Again - I am no fan of lindsey graham. Just goes to show that military experience doesn't necessarily equate to good politics. Wait...did I hear someone say John Kerry?
Anyway, the point I was making above was that making a generalized statement like that is a littel silly since, (generally) republicans have been much friendlier to the military than dems.

Not a Graham fan. He doesn't seem to know how to hold his ground. Principles still matter to me.

No, he's not even close to being my choice. Military experience isn't a must-have, as far as I'm concerned. In my opinion, we've had bad Presidents with military experience (like GWB, Carter, and Nixon), and we've had good Presidents without military experience (like Adams, Jefferson, and FDR). What I want is an appreciation for the military, combined with the ability to pick and choose when to use them (rather than using them at every opportunity). Ceteris paribus, I'd prefer someone with a military background, but it's pretty far down the list of criteria that I use.

FDR was a major contributing factor of WHY we are in this mess that we're in today...What criteria did you use to consider him a good president?

So what are we up to now? 22, 23 Candidates. Is this a primary or TLCs replacement for 19 and Counting?
