First tip, initials are not allowed on RP, you must use your real name.
Okay, now to the real advice:
Attend a budgeting/finance class. Living in Europe is expensive compared to the US.
Explore the immediate surrounding area before venturing outward, you will find most of what you need around you.
Married? Not an issue, ACS can help you and your spouse adjust to the new way of life, I.E. a job for your spouse/ lending closet until your furniture arrives.
Travel! You are going to a great duty station! Take advantage of the ITA office and explore Europe. Poland, Switzerland, France, England are just hours away by either train or car.
PACK WARM CLOTHES!!! Vilseck gets COLD during the winter and hot during the summer. Invest in fans because AC is all but non existent in Army housing.
If you need a car, for the love of all things holy, DO NOT BUY A BMW, Mercedes as your first car because they are “Cheeper” in Germany. Get yourself something reasonable. And no, a truck is not reasonable for Germany, unless it’s a Toyota Tacoma which isn’t really a truck.

Since when are initials not allowed on RP? It's my name, you don't get to tell me how to formulate it.

Take a German class. Get out there and interact with the locals. Germans are a friendly people once you get to know them. You'll develop friendships and have a wonderful time.

Hopefully you are taking your Family to experience a different culture. Vilsek is on the premiere training facility in Europe, maybe the Army for its size. Housing is nice on post and when off it is nice as well. It is in a country setting with several amazing little towns. It is an easy drive to mud and larger sized towns. The culture, food and beer is great. Schools are good for the kids. Read about the wonders of Bavaria and the largest city nearby is Nuremberg about an hour. Munich inbelive an hour an a half. At all pints in between are ruins, castles, hiking and festivals year round s on where for some thing. Al to often Sokdiers go to Agee any and stay on post with their friends and three years later realize they haven’t experienced anything. Enjoy, learn the language have fun.
