Lack of purpose in life. I am on a journey without a destination.

That's a tough one. When I first retired I had a nice job working from home for a publishing company....self paced and self supervised. Sounded great. I got to travel occasionally to college campuses and meet people. Problem was I just didn't feel the fulfillment that you do working with Soldiers and helping them get better at what they do. I was involved in a profit-oriented business and that just left me feeling a little empty. I moved on after year or so and now work with Soldiers as a contractor, a much more fulfilling job.

Good perspective. I help veterans with PTSD and tell them the esoteric entitlements they might not know of. It feels good to change their lives or increased cash flow by $2000/month. The feeling is sublime.

For me it was how much I missed being around my fellow Soldiers. After I retired I moved to an area I had not lived in for 25 years, and didn't know many people. I miss the guys and gals I served with, and miss just being around them.

I agree with Maj. Landgren when I separated I just sat around the house with no purpose.
