This list was posted in the forum last year and Forbes has a new list out now. I was born and raised on the Northside of Pittsburgh and I am proud to say that Pittsburgh ranked #1 Best Place for Veterans. I know that SGT Ben Keen had no doubt. Follow the link and see what other places made the list.

And it's only getting better! This area houses around 220,000 Veterans and those of us that work within the Veterans Support Community are working hard to ensure that the city knows exactly what it's role is by having that many Veterans in one area. Companies here are meeting with us and talking to us about how to find meaningful employment for Veterans and what they can do to help Veterans through the transition as well as figure out ways to teach them how things work on the corporate side. The city and the surrounding areas showcase not only some great memorials along side the North Shore outside Heinz Field and PNC Park but also showcases some amazing team work to ensure that the men and women that those memorials are built for are not forgotten.

Nothing everything is perfect. We still have hundreds of Veterans bedding down under our 462 bridges. The VAPHS has been the focus of both local and national investigations. But yes, things aren't too bad for Veterans here.

I moved down to Atlanta last year and it took me exactly 11 months to find work. My work contract ends in either March or April (jury's still out) and I'm not looking forward to the job search that begins as soon as I know my end-date.
