For those of you who like to work on their own vehicles, AKO actually offers free access to the Chilton online library. All you have to do is from the home page of AKO, click Self-Service, then click My Library. From there, click Automotive, then scroll down to the Chilton link. The pictures highlight the links you need to click to get there.

Since they updated AKO, you now have to go through militaryonesource. I just posted a new set of instructions to access it.

Great info, the follow up post re: anti-virus software is also extremely helpful.

Has been a while since I've needed one, but I do much of my own auto repair, so it's pretty certainly only a matter of time till I do again. I've run Ford pickups for about 15 years now, I have done enough work on 73-79, 80-86, 87-96 models that I don't need a manual for just about any repair on them, however, I've now moved up to an '01, and I know very little about the Triton family of motors. So far I like this one, but I sure miss the 300/4.9. Thanks for the post, I'll try to remember for next time.
