Job Summary

The Sales Associate will conduct telephone sales prospecting and related activities in support of Veterans Business Supply, Inc. (VBS™) (http://www.vbs.vet) an online retailer and a Massachusetts Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Enterprise (SBVOBE) and a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The company’s focus is to leverage its small business designations with state and Federal agencies and Federal prime contractors.
The qualified candidate selected for this position will be responsible for contacting and identifying potential customers for VBS and to assist VBS to implement its strategic marketing and sales plan for the sale of online office, commercial and industrial supplies and related products and special-order items to primarily the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, local municipal, and Federal government agencies.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining a log of client contacts, assisting to establish distribution-preferred vendor contractual relationships with various OEM and wholesalers to confirm product line availability for resale, as well direct sales responsibilities. The individual selected for this position must possess excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills, work well in a team environment and be someone who is responsible, proactive, and adaptable to varying work environments. Strong IT and website development and maintenance experience a plus. This is a part-time position ranging from 16-24 hours per week.

Qualifications -Minimum
• Associates degree in business, marketing, or sales.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Massachusetts to include marketing and business development, telephone sales and all aspects of product sales.
• Experience in sales to Federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Experience in preparing quotations and request for quotations from Federal agencies and other corporate companies.
• Experience selling office products, furniture and the various product categories found on the VBS website, http://www.vbs.vet.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• U.S. Citizen and ability to pass Federal security clearance requirements.
• Experience with GSA contract schedules preferred.
• Qualified military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply and receive preferential consideration.
Essential Functions
• Assist to implement a marketing and business development strategy primarily via telephone outreach and follow-up with prospective customers for VBS.

Security Specialist (Federal Position)

1. Program/Project Assignment(s):
The position is located at the Livermore Field Office (LFO) Assistant Manager, Safeguards and Security (AMSS), Organization and serves as a security specialist responsible for performing oversight of assigned safeguards and security programs implemented by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Oversight includes performing formal assessments of security program operations; reviewing security plans, reports, budget submissions and other security program deliverables and products; and, maintaining day-to-day situational awareness of local and complex-wide security program issues, and initiatives. This work is done to support Department of Energy (DOE) and NNSA requirements for the authorized Field Office official(s) to direct and evaluate a Security Protection Level 4 safeguards and security program. Federal direction and guidance towards the security program contributes to the development, application, and assurance of risk-based security measures and controls to protect sensitive and classified DOE/NNSA assets, and support effective and efficient DOE/NNSA programmatic operations.
Work is assigned by the AMSS or AMSS Organization Team Leader and performed in accordance with AMSS Organization policies and procedures. General technical guidance is provided by the AMSS and Team Leader. The incumbent must apply expert, contemporary knowledge of DOE/NNSA and other relevant security directives, technical requirements, codes and standards; and, skill in application of risk management principles to evaluate and recommend effective and efficient security controls to counteract or minimize security risks in assigned security programs. Experience in physical security is desired.
2. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
Knowledge of contemporary DOE/NNSA and other relevant security directives, technical requirements, codes and standards applicable to assigned security programs, and professional knowledge of fundamentals and techniques of associated, interrelated security disciplines.
Knowledge of principles related to planning, budgeting, and managing a risk-based security program to support programmatic operations and enable mission success. Knowledge of management systems and behaviors that is necessary for an effective organizational security culture.
Knowledge of integrated assessment techniques including identifying security operations for assessment; identifying criteria (requirements and DOE/NNSA expectations) applicable to security operations; and, developing lines of inquiry to evaluate applicable policies, procedures, practices, and assurance mechanisms. Ability to organize, coordinate, and perform risk-based, multi-disciplinary assessment activities that produce information sufficient to evaluate performance of security operations.
The individual must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Communicating effectively includes the ability to clearly and concisely express useful results and recommendations from oversight activities. The individual must be able to summarize oversight activities in management level reports so that informed management decisions can be made. The individual must able to contribute to the development and improvement of organizational policies and procedures and the development of contractual performance evaluation criteria. The individual must also be able to interact successfully with top-level industrial and government officials on complex and sensitive issues.
3. Other Position Requirements:
This position has been designated as a technical position subject to coverage under the Technical Qualification Program (TQP). As a TQP covered position, this position is responsible for performing technical functions that are critical to NNSA’s success in accomplishment of its national defense, science and technology, and environmental, safety and health management missions. This position requires the incumbent to acquire and demonstrate technical competencies identified in a technical qualification standard and requires certification of the competencies by a qualifying official.
This position requires a “Q” clearance (Top Secret) and is subject to Random Drug Testing. Approximately 10% of time will involve travel. Travel will be required for participation in meetings and for participation in training events. Travel will be within the United States. Work will be performed in an office setting, with minimal exposure to hazardous materials, and minimal exposure to discomfort or unpleasantness.

Salary Range: $65,180 - $122,884* (NNSA is in pay banding, this position is a GS-9 through GS-12)
*Pay includes San Jose/San Francisco Locality Pay

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Construction Project Management Specialist works with the Facilities Services Team members leading facilities related construction projects to ensure all financial, administrative, contractual, and technical aspects of projects are being executed, as required. Facilities associated with this role may include, but are not limited to; BISSELL workplaces, production facilities, logistics facilities, and corporate facilities.



The primary function of the Construction Project Management Specialist is to provide construction-related services and reports to Facilities leadership. The Construction Project Management Specialist is the primary contact for each assigned project and duties as assigned.


Responsibilities

POSITION PROFILE:

Assist the Team Lead – Facilities Services as needed to ensure repair and maintenance of the building, grounds, plant, and production equipment
Develop work plans and oversee performance of general contractors, and occasionally directly to trade subcontractors and/or vendors
Develop and distribute communication plans for assigned projects
Oversee the work for compliance with schedule, budget, quality, safety, and overall conformance with the contract documents
Project responsibility covers from concept (Business Unit Stakeholders and Senior Managers), design, construction, and operations (warranty & maintenance)
Create contractor and vendor RFP documents (scope narratives, schedules, etc.), attend job walks and selection/award review meetings, where directed
Where directed: Establish and/or review contract documents and manage procurement, pre-bid conferences, and evaluations
Coordinate activities with other BISSELL staff, departments, and public agencies
Provide weekly Project updates to Facilities leadership
Resolve field construction problems in coordination with engineering staff, third parties, and other agencies as necessary
Host and manage progress meetings, complete status reports, and deliver presentations, as required
Recommend policy and procedure improvements
Assist in negotiating with contractors regarding changes to design, construction work scope, and schedules
Support a quality audit program, oversee contractor corrective actions, and ensure a quality project conforming to plans and specifications
Monitor and/or resolve claims, suggest ways to mitigate impacts, and develop workarounds
Support BISSELL safety vision and comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures
