Breaking Barriers Developmentally Disabled Services (non-profit) is seeking more Direct Support Professionals for our growing agency.

We are based in Culver City California. We service the west side of Los Angeles. We provide in-person support and online support on a case by case basis. Must be able to commute to the west side of Los Angeles daily. EX. Culver City, Santa Monica, Inglewood.

Under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor the Direct Support Professional will support the focus person/s in the development, implementation, and success of person-centered goals. In addition, the Direct Support Professional will carry out the daily operations of Community Integration/Tailored Services/Job Supports, insuring delivery of all necessary supports and services. Position is in-person, virtual, and/or a combination of both.
Qualifications: High School Graduate or Equivalent (i.e. G.E.D) and ability to pass a Live-scan background clearance. The applicant will have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Direct Support Professional and/or a skill set that matches the person-centered goals of a participant. Must have, or be able to acquire on the job, the necessary skills to perform the responsibilities as stated below.
Function and Responsibilities:
• Support Breaking Barriers participants in compliance with all applicable regulations and
standards.
• Attends vocational, social, event, etc. groups and/or meetings with the focus individual.
• Become familiar with and implement all step plans and ISP goals associated with the focus
person.
• Participant in the establishment and maintenance of person-centered goals.
• Have knowledge of or ability to gain knowledge of various generic community resources and how
to access these resources.
• Have knowledge of or ability to gain knowledge of various activities to support the focus person
in achieving their individual goals.
• Create and maintain participants daily/weekly/monthly schedule.
• Pursue continuing education and trainings through routine in-services, Relias training, and/or
webinars or conferences. (All training is paid)
• Attends all required meetings including support team meetings, staff meetings, and scheduled
trainings.
• Addresses complaints and reports to the Program Supervisor.
• Completes all daily, monthly, and other pertinent documentation as required.
• Completes all semi-annual and annual summaries to assist the Program Supervisor and Associate
Director with completion of these reports.
• Facilitates communication between Breaking Barriers and other supports.
• Maintain a person-centered work culture.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Performs other duties as required.
