Larsen Marine TS LLC is a full-service marine center looking for motivated people to join our team of the best marine professionals serving both power and sailboat enthusiasts on the Great Lakes. Larsen Marine is one of the largest yacht service and storage facilities on the Great Lakes, storing and servicing more than 1,000 boats annually and providing service from our 75-slip basin and from harbors between Milwaukee and Chicago.

We are looking for Marine Technicians and mechanics to join the team. We also offer apprenticeships for these roles, so if you are interested, come and learn the trades with us! If you have a great attitude and enjoy variety in what you do day-to-day, as well as an aptitude for any of these trades, we might be a great fit for you to learn and grow.

We are seeking full-time Marine Technician boat mechanics at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

Duties & Responsibilities for a Marine Technician include:

1. Perform trouble shooting and repair of marine gasoline and diesel engines, from maintenance to complete overhaul
2. Repair/rebuild gearsets, transmissions and sterndrives
3. Repair propulsion components such as transmissions, sail drives, stern drives, etc.
4. Diagnose and repair 110V gensets, 12V and battery bank systems
5. Perform winterization and spring commissioning of engines and ships systems
6. Install mechanical equipment such as new engines, air conditioning systems, pumps, anchor windlass, and others as assigned
7. Perform mechanical repairs on boat equipment including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, pumps, etc.
8. Demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills and abilities
9. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent

Qualifications for a Marine Technician include:
Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
High school diploma required
4 years of experience in the performance of mechanical repair and installation (Apprenticeships offered outside of this qualification)
Ability to speak and read English and understand electrical wiring diagrams
Ability to use test instruments
Must provide personal mechanical tools and test equipment (Apprenticeships may allow for tool cripb use)
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
Must be able to complete assigned work in an efficient and timely manner
Strong work ethic and personal commitment
Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
Marine Technicians will find an industry leading compensation package including on-going training. Our team members have access to an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, sick time, and paid time off.
