[login to see] : Poseidon International Specialized Consulting & Engineering Services, LLC is seeking a Planner/Estimator to join our team performing work in Alexandria, Egypt. This work is in support of the industrial maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Egyptian Navy (EN) vessels.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will be providing Fast Missile Craft (FMC) Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Planning and Estimating support for long and short ranging availability planning and emergent support for vessels requiring emergency availabilities.
Job Description:
The selected candidate shall report directly to the In Country Manager and shall be responsible for:
• Planning, conducting ship checks, writing repair work items/specifications and estimating labor, material and subcontractor work at the paragraph and line-item level for FMC repair work, alterations and modifications.
• Shall be capable of assessing ship’s material condition by conducting ship checks, researching ships documents, analyzing ships conditions and tests, and determining scope of work required.
• Shall also be capable of interpreting and using all technical and material information available in Shipbuilder and Manufacturer drawings, technical manuals, documents, or Original Equipment Manufacturer data and/or other pertinent commercial data to identify repair and modification requirements and to identify, price, and order materials.
• Developing work items/specifications in accordance with EN requirements by utilizing instructions and pertinent Standard Items, and Class and Local Standard Work Templates.
• Should be familiar with using available application programs to develop work items/specifications and labor, material and cost estimates in accordance with EN instructions and directives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have knowledge of ship construction, shipboard systems, equipment, and their operations, and have some experience with developing production planning documents and estimates for work executed at depot level surface ship maintenance and modernization facilities.
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
• Candidate should be familiar with using available application programs to develop work items/specifications and labor, material, and cost estimates in accordance with EN instructions and directives.
• Work experience in a Naval Repair Facility or Commercial Shipyard that specializes in U. S Navy Ship repairs and alterations is preferred.
• 3 years of experience as a planner, estimator at Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), Navy Central Planning Activities, Planning for Engineering and Repair Activities at public or private shipyards or other ship repair companies is preferred.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be proficient with basic computer operation with ability to create and maintain various reports and spreadsheets as required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Country Clearance and Base Pass authorization.
• U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to access Egyptian military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
• Applicant must have a current passport with at least two (2) years prior to expiration after arrival in country.
• High School Diploma/GED
