Just about every single SFC eligible this year got this email from HRC today and then HRC wasn't around to answer phone calls as to why, so I'm hoping someone here has insight. Just FYI, I had already verified my record. And all of us meet all requirements (TIS, TIG, SSD complete, SLC complete, etc).
Sir/Ma'am,
As verified by the last four digits of your Social Security Number ending in XXXX, you have been removed as a candidate from the FY 15 AC MSG BOARD.
Enlisted: Please contact your S1 with any questions.
Needless to say, our S1 has no idea why.

My S1 verified with HRC Promotions Branch that it was an "erroneous email." This is from the My Board File (Official) Facebook Page:
"DO NOT PANIC..there was a glitch in the system and an erroneous email went out saying you were deleted from the MSG. Please disregard the email."
I am sure that there will be MTF through official channels.

So should we expect the HRC website to be a giant mess the day it releases again haha....a glitch. I wish they weren't using old computers with Windows 3.11 for Workgroups on them still...

You got to wonder sometimes, if it'd be more reliable if they were using WIN 3.1, CW2 (Join to see)

I've seen something like this when the board was cancelled in the past, CW2 (Join to see). That could well be the explanation.

Not sure if I should up or down vote this haha. Oh well. I'm in Hawaii, I'm not worried about it. Let me retire from here and I'd do it as a really squared away SGT or SSG if they really wanted me to haha.

That's a guess, CW2 (Join to see), maybe an educated guess. As CPT John Hermida notes, there could be other explanations for the e-mails. Let's hope it's something else, a glitch or something.

Always best to take bad news in Hawaii. It stings much less than if you were stationed at NTC or Drum. I got good vibes for you this year. Prayers from AZ.

Just got this message: Many Soldiers received notification of their removal from the FY15 AC MSG Promotion Board. Please note that this message was sent in error and if you are in fact eligible, you have not been removed from consideration. For those erroneously affected, you're MyBoardFile is currently available to you to review and certify. Please check your MyBoardFile for accuracy and take appropriate action to update. Those erroneously affected will receive a MyBoardFile generated message stating that you are eligible for consideration. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Per my S-1:
UNCLASSIFIED//NONE
ALCON,
Per HRC, disregard this message. There was a problem with the computer systems and it generated an inaccurate email.
There will be a message published in reference to this issue.
Please pass along, thank you

CW2 (Join to see), wow that Sucks, that's NUTS..I am retiring in 9 days and a wake-up. This would have been devastating on my 6th look had I stayed in going on my 26th year 2015. I said 5 was enough personally and 25 years and 3 days was enough. Well stay positive all Future MSGs your time is coming for that look and promotion next year.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
SFC Chris Smith, If I would have stayed in for my 26th year next year, I wouldn't have had a chance anyway. I was outside the zone for consideration. Needless to say, I retire in 6 days and a wake-up.
Army policy excludes soldiers from E-8 promotion consideration if they are within one year of reaching the retention control point for sergeant first class, which is 26 years of active service.

SFCs get disqualification notices by mistake
Promotion disqualification notices sent in error to several E-7s

I got the same email as well as a lot of other people. I, along with many other people I am sure, would like an answer as to whether or not this is just a glitch or if this is for real.

I just got off the phone with HRC Promotions Branch and they said to disregard the email. We are all still eligible for the FY 15 MSG Board. He wouldn't go into detail about why we all received the email but he said to disregard and that "My Board File" would be back up soon!

I have been wondering the same damn thing. I have been racking my brain as to why, since HRC added no explanation along with their email. I have been on my board file multiple times, nothing negative in my records, security clearance is good, and SSD4 completed. If anyone finds anything out please let us know, as my HR department wasn't open today

I received the same email, I been trying to find out what's going on with no luck, hopefully it's a glitch and not the board being cancelled.
