Given how important tabs are in the Army, should a prior service Marine now in the Army have a special tab indicating their background?

Former Marines are so special we need a patch or tab to designate our former status as serving in a different branch. Because, you know, physical fitness and feelings. Who needs a tab to say you used to be a marine when every former marine is sure to bring it up in every conversation no matter how relevant.

Response sounds like a high schooler upset with his classmates. How about you talk to those around you about their personality deficiencies according to your standards and leave this forum with strictly professional responses, Staff Sergeant. Commentors are having a misconception about this question. I am not demanding anything nor want anything. Like I said previously, I would prefer removing everything to include our names from our uniform. But that's not the Army we live in. The proposed question is why or why not, should it be a thing, not show me how you swing your dick in pride for your service. Proud of both branches as I've served with heroes from both. This is not about who is better, because I'm not boot, I'm over that I'm better than you mindset.

Please. If there is a misunderstanding ofyour original comment it is because of your reasoning and lack of ability to explain your thought. You being a physical beast 10 years due to your physical fitness as a former marine and follow on pride in being a marine is not solid logic for handing out tabs to former anyones. Bringing rank into it, well, not going to work on this.

After making a snarky comment about pretty trinkets on Army uniforms, are you saying you want a pretty trinket for yours?
Or perhaps you are saying that this is an appropriate warning label. Marine = this person needs things explained in even simpler terms than usual?
Or maybe it's a label that should be understood to mean, "If you absolutely have to assault a defended position in a head-on banzai charge, send this guy in first. He's used to it."
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Thank you for your service. Content with the evolution of our military, in most cases.

SFC (Join to see) OK, someone doesn't recognize a joke when they see it. But what does "Content with the evolution of our military, in most cases." mean?
Incidentally, I'm returning the favor on the downvote, and since I think it's cowardly to downvote and not explain, my reason is that you were snarky in your comments about pretty trinkets, but resent being called on it. If you are big enough to make snarky comments, you ought to be big enough to accept them in return.
Incidentally, I've never done a shoulder check in my life. I do have some of those pretty trinkets, but people who earned them the hard way realize (usually) that it's what's inside the uniform that counts, not what's on it. Sorry you found a unit where this isn't true.

Yep, talking about pretty trinkets and telling people gtfo is REAL professional. You need a sense of humor, or perhaps a life.
I'm sure it will make you feel even more professional to get in another dig, when you started by being unprofessional. You get the last word. Enjoy it. I'm done.

SSG L, I truly understand your position, one of being up-tight and that of not comprehending some good banter. My whole family served in Marines (the USMC and HMRM); I opted to serve in the Army and the community I am in. Apologize I stirred up your sensitivities.

CPT Michael Barden I wouldn't say anything on this site that I would be afraid to say face-to-face. I was respectful with my reproach...and I'm sure the LTC (Join to see) has thick skin and isn't afraid of anything a SSgt would say to him...right Sir?

Guys no disrespect...point is our NATION before anything! What we wear on our uniforms is irrelevant...what we do for our nation is all! Serve honorably and keep charging forward...trust me, that that is what we need......! BTW SSgt is used in the USMC and AF......welcome to the ARMY! LOL
