It was ok.. sure, they took liberties when making it and the Military didn’t exactly fully endorseit(just enough)... it hadfunnie moments scattered through the movie.. Point is to not accept e’thing as fact.. after all, it is just a entertaining movie..

Never saw it. I don't rely on Hollywood for an accurate depiction of anything.

Never saw the movie. By the time I got there in 1966, it was Army Specialist Kramer Hass that was doing the Good Morning Vietnam show.

Hi, Sergeant Spratley.

I met Adrian Cronauer at an Air Force Reserve event in the early 2000s. He said the only accuracy in that movie was that, yes, he was in Vietnam and, yes, he was a DJ. Everything else was Hollywood. Robin Williams ad-libbed a lot of his lines. He said people would ask him what Williams was like in real life, and he said, that while he met him, he didn't know. Williams was always in character.

It was a great movie. I can only imagine the difficulty playing opposite Williams.

Great movie and it kind of represented, so many demographics and relief for a very unpopular war. SGT (Join to see)

I think that it was a fair representation. Apocalypse Now was totally inaccurate but it depicted the insanity of war better than any film I've ever seen. However, there is one film, little noticed or remarked upon (so far as I know) that was very endearing to me: Don't Cry, It's Only Thunder. I recommend it highly.
