While I am happy that these folks made it and are doing well, at issue isn't 40 folks who settled in Seattle. It is ten of thousands who will settle...where? That is a lot of folks to assimilate at once, although we have done it before. What makes it worse than usual is the known risk inherent in this group, and ISIS' publicly announced intent to embed operatives in order to execute attacks using the mass of people as cover. Worse, they will likely attempt - with probable success - to radicalize others in both this group and wherever they end up.
This is a problem that we actually are choosing to have, and I think that is very foolish.
In order to do this right, they should go through the standard immigration process.
