Okay, so did anyone actually read what she said? She compared the dehumanization of cyber bullying to that of the dehumanization of war. That's it.

Now, people are coming out of the woodwork saying things like, "she knows what its like to be a war veteran", "she's a joke", "she should go out on patrol with soldiers to see what its really like", etc.

People are reading way to much into some of these kinds of comments. Or, worse yet, they are just reading the headline the media wants you to see and don't actually read the full quote.

At what point is it too much? Americans had a much better sense of humor, didn't rile so easily, and didn't jump onto hate bandwagons so much in the past. Don't believe me? Watch some Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts...

First, who cares what Gwyneth Paltrow has to say? Second, who cares what Gwyneth Paltrow has to say? As an actress, she played a soldier, cyber bully and victim, so she is an expet. Anyone listening to, or carrying about what she, or any actor, has to say about anything...other than acting...is an idiot and deserves what they get.

unfortunately a lot of people care what actors/actresses have to say. Its sad that our populace puts so much emphasis on what celebrities think, say or do.

Sir,

You are correct. It makes people celebrities because they are on TV and then thinks because they are a celebrity, their opinion is more important than anyone else? It would be the same as someone asking you about acting because you are in the military and actors love to play roles about soldiers? Actually, that is not a really good example because you might actually not be a spoiled brat with no real life experience, but you get the idea.

Agree completely. So absurd not worth a second thought. She is not posturing about her war experience. She is using obvious hyperbole to support her emotional cause.

I dont mind when an actor has an opinion... but I hate when they try and spread their opinion on things like politics. I also hate when I love an actress or think and actor is awesome and then they give a stupid opinion or rant and I suddenly cant stand them anymore... ruins a movie for me. anyway... on topic... I am not worried about what she said. I dont fully get it anyway... I will have to look up the big words. LoL

If you haven't walked the walk PLEASE do not attempt to talk the talk. That is why you won't see any comments from me regarding red carpet fashion or makeup tips.

Media blew this one up too far. It was a slow news day. And when does a true warrior listen to her ramble. Let her act that is her talent. We will fight the wars and keep her ideas and opinions safe. I know why I defend the flag.

I think it's funny that famous people get slammed when they open their mouth. It is a necessary backlash for being paid so much for their work, period. Plus, it makes for good fun reading from all of you and everyone else, I'm pretty bored these days, so I need to be entertained more, even at others' expense.....:) It's also interesting that an SF guy is pissed at her...I imagine her agents are saying "well you done did it now!....

WORK? Work is a 4 letter word to these folks, Doc. Did you see her piece comparing 14 hours in front of a camera to working women with office jobs? Oh she keeps stepping deeper & Deeper into her own BS. She's so deep in it, if they dug a 6 foot hole in China her feet would pop out.

You're right though, it is funny to see how these people from planet Hollywood view the lives of us mere mortals here on Earth

Lol, wow I didn't know extent of her opinion sharing, sounds like it's time for her to get smacked down a peg or 2 :). I nominate SSG Woods, unleash the TEXAN NCO from FT Bragg (I think?). I will pay premium to see that

After seeing what she said, in the context that it was said, it is all a bunch of nonsense and people jumping on for no reason beyond her being an easy target. No one should care what she said, why she said it and I blame RP for wasting the portion of my life that I spent paying attention to what she did say.

I think we should all be concerned about how hard it is for her to be famous and have people blogging and speaking about her because of her fame? My heart does go out to her.

You go Gwyneth! It is not easy being rich and famous and people should try to understand.

Yes Sir,

I love targets you can hit easy and don't fire back, but with Gwyneth Paltrow I would not want to waste the ammo. There is no point where our interest over lap.

I don't understand how can she compare negative comments to being in a war is the same as Kanye West comparing his rap career to police officer or soldier at war.

This is the first I heard of it as I try to stay off those and stick to RallyPoint. But I did a little google search and saw this gem:
