I received 60 credit hours in total for all of my military schooling. Unfortunately, because I had 45 credit hours transferred in from previous college courses, UMUC would only accept 20 of them. It left me with only my core courses and a couple of general education courses to complete.

I received credit for masters degree courses. Many Universities offer transfer credit for military vets.

A lot of the Navy schools are ACE accredited so they directly transfer, though they were mostly electives. (I think all now that I look back on it)

University of Massachusetts at Lowell would not accept any military credits. I enrolled at Northern Essex Community College which accepted 12 credits. I was awarded an associates and transferred to UMass which accepted all the transfer credits.

I would have to say at least half of my college credits from my A.S. degree came from military courses.

I got 1 credit of kinesiology for Basic and 2 credits for Airborne school. I also got 5 or 6 electives in medicine for my deployment as a medic... (worked out well, I got to take one less class my last semester of Nursing school)

I got none for 68W MOS, WLC, ALC, Army Basic Instructor, etc... which was fine.

Yep! I already had taken some courses before I enlisted but Huachuca has a relationship with a local college, Cochise College, where you pay $50 & they'll count your time in AIT towards getting credits. After all was said & done I needed just 1 200 level credit to get my AS in Intelligence Operations, so I took an MDMP Course online thru Cochise.

Joint services transcript will give you a list of training you have completed that can be transferred into college credits, depending on the school. I have received over 40 with Columbia College.

Stay away from U of Phoenix, they only gave 1 and that was towards criminal justice, University of Maryland gave 33 just from the JST transcript, and will give more for work experience, jobs held, (using eval reports) after 1st semester
