I used VR to obtain 2 Masters Degrees. When I requested a medical discharge, I fought to get a 20% rating because I knew that would allow me to tap into VR through the VA. I had a BA degree when I Enlisted

Nice. The VR representative I talked to seemed to think that $16 an hour was good enough and that I didn't need it.

SFC Marc W. I knew going in the Army what I needed to qualify for VR. I was planning to go OCS and Airborne until my injury was diagnosed. I opted to stay on Active Duty and knew I was eligible for a medical discharge if my physical condition worsened. After 18 months freezing in northern Germany, I requested the medical discharge and was offered a 10% rating. I flew to Walter Reed and represented myself and got the 20% needed to qualify for VR. I have submitted all the paperwork myself to get my rating to 100% and I am in the process of submitting more documentation regarding exposure to Agent Orange at Ft McClellan SFC Marc W.
