Have you deployed as a 70B MS Officer? What was it like and to where did you deploy?

You should ask these questions (see below) in separate posts. They are completely unrelated to your main question about deploying. When future RP members search for these topics, they will be unlikely to find this thread particular thread, unless they are also searching about deployments.

Allow me to recount a story about a Reserve medical doctor. He was deployed for a year, and his practice suffered tremendously without him.

Q1: It depends on a lot of factors, but typically assignment positions are 24mos and you usually are on station for no less than 24 mos but this can be more assuming there are multiple positions you can take as a 70B.
Q2: Again, varies on availability, but almost anywhere in the world you can deploy or get stationed, such as Italy, Germany, Korea, Japan, Alaska, Africa etc....majority of deployments have been focused on Iraq and Afghanistan but again there are deployments in south America, Central America, Guam, etc....
Q3: Yes you can make the transition to Medical or Dental school quite easily assuming you have scored well on MCAT/DAT. You should also have a good undergrad GPA as well. There are HPSP scholarships you can apply for or if you wanted to stay reserve, once you are in either medical/dental school, you can apply for MDSSP. The difference between HPSP and MDSSP is simple, HPSP you are on glide path for active duty, receive a monthly stipend and all costs associated(most) are paid for by Army. With MDSSP, you are responsible for costs of school. You still receive the monthly stipend. Let me know if you have more questions concerning those options.
Q4: BOLC is the same for Reservists and Active Duty 70B. You should not be required to go to the Direct Commission Course which extends BOLC per se for those who have never served. It is roughly about 8 weeks but they change it all the time, so will depend when you commissioned.
