Have you ever been on a plane and the pilot says "Folks don't be alarmed. We are being escorted by two Russian Migs back to Alaska."

In 1992 My mom and I were on a Northwestern Airline...don't remember the size...it was a double decker....
We changed planes in San Fransisco and were headed to Tokyo.
Don't know how long we were in the air when the Pilot came on and said..."folks, don't worry....we seemed to have gotten a little lost, but these nice Russian Migs are escorting us back to Alaska.
Later, while stuck on the ground in Juneau for 6 hours....I found out that this plane had three navigational systems and ALL THREE OF THEM went out. Of all the dumb luck....and I was 7 Months pregnant and thought I was going to have my son right then and there. LOL

It didn't bother me at first till some passenger started acting all freaky and talking about Russians shooting down an airline years before.

A real story....the worst part was being on the ground on the tarmac for 6 hours...we were not allowed to leave the plane...it started to get really hot on board....after a few hours they finally opened up the doors...it seemed like forever before we were able to get going again.
The rest of the flight was uneventful. Thank Goodness. The bad thing is, when we got to Japan, we had to catch another flight to Okinawa and by the time I got there, we went to the hospital on Camp Kue and I spent the next day and a half in the ER. UGH.
