PO1 John Miller, it appears to me that this program provides training in design software; you don't need to have a background in it to start into that career path. I have been doing this sort of design work for several decades and am now retired and starting my own company from scratch.
Solid Works offers veterans a student version of their software for $20 to get started and learn the software. I got this package to learn the software and this Workshop for Warriors posting came by email since I am now on their mailing list.
It looks to me like a good opportunity for transitioning SMs or veterans looking for a new start. This can be a very good career and has been in much demand everywhere I have lived.
