Here's a copy of the NG data breach announced last week.
That National Guard data breach
Jonn Lilyea | July 15, 2015
We got a copy of the bulletin from the National Guard in regards to the data breach that they reported last Friday;
Apparently, they lost all of the data on everyone who served in the National Guard since 2004 and they knew about it last October but didn’t bother to tell you about it until Friday. I guess they were just waiting for some news, like the OPM data breach, to suck up the news.

Makes you wonder why they made everyone convert to .mil if they can't keep it secure...especially since I can't access my Enterprise mail most of the time. GKO has gone away and now they are talking about replacing AKO because it isn't a viable platform. Here's hoping that the new Cyber Corps can protect us. Thanks for the info as this had not been disseminated widely.

I knew about the breach, but until today, I've seen nothing. That's a lot of info from 2004. Hopefully, like you wrote, the cyber corps can do their job effectively.

Would you be surprised if I told you that events like these happen more often than the military will readily admit?

PO1 John Miller, No, not really. As long as there is human involvement, mistakes will be made. Sometimes it's just plain laziness or unconcerned actions by a person. I'll give you a simple example. I went to Tokyo on R&R in 1966. In 1967, I took 5 days leave to go back to Tokyo. When I returned to AnKhe,I was unpacking and passed out. I was in the hospital for 5 days. Had a touch of Malaria, but mostly fatigue. When I reported to Ft. Campbell July 1967, I was informed I had 10 days excessive leave taken and would be docked the pay. I knew I hadn't taken 10 days excessive leave, but there was no way to prove it. The REM clerk had posted it wrong in my records. It's on my DD-214 also. Had I taken 10 days excessive leave, I would have been snatched up and talked to by my Command. I might even have been accused of desertion. You don't come up missing for ten days, in a combat war, and it go unnoticed. The computer techs responsible for the safety and security of the military personnel and military files, screwed up, or this would not have happened.

Does that affect all fifty states or just the Arlington Virginia national guard unit

SPC (Servicemember) - Before you go throwing around Down votes, I would encourage you to have a discussion like an adult. Secondly, backing up your disagreement would be helpful since I got the 20.1 million number from an Anti-Terrorism officer that gets reports directly from NGB.

MSG James W, Well I don't recall giving you a down vote; however as an abrupt and obviously abusive and offensive adult speaking to a super sensitive obviously offended adult, I would think there are approximately 20.1 million guardsmen that would give this data breach a down vote. But I thank you for the information and advise you to better direct your dissatisfaction with taking a hit whether you feel it justified or not. Sometimes these touchy feely screens just jump at your fingertips and other times need to be hammered like the faces of those constantly offended people. if u scroll up u should see a 1 by my comment. If I knew how I would remove it.

THIS breach was up to 850,000 current and former Guardsmen.
Meanwhile THIS data breach was up to 21.5 million past federal employees which may have included service members. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/s/u-yet-notify-21-5-million-data-breach-225745853.html
The 21.5 million one listed above is separate from, but related to, the OPM data breach in April that may have affected 4 million current and former federal employees.

U.S. has yet to notify 21.5 million data breach victims: officials
By Mark Hosenball WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two months after discovering that sensitive personal information on 21.5 million Americans was compromised in a hack of government databanks, none of those affected has been officially notified, government officials said on Tuesday. The officials from multiple agencies, who are familiar with an investigation into the breach, said the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which oversaw the data, is...

MSgt Manuel Diaz - I appreciate the dripping sarcasm, but if you would look at the beginning of my reply (in bold) it says SPC (Servicemember) because that is who my reply was directed to.
