I've talked to recruiter's and they all seem to just give me the run around and not give me a solid answer. If they require a waiver for the time gap I would do that but I know it goes my career field need, I have offered to retrain. That comes down to a money issue with that. If I don't fit into any category with the prior service, why can't i just do a new enlistment with a waiver? This has been the hardest question to get answered. I will read the reg's myself if I have to, just need know which one's to read.

Beyond a recruiter the best advice I could give you would be to find the air force equivalent of a human resources specialist because I honestly don't know. Not sure why you are getting the run around at a recruiter, that is what they are there for!

That's what is frustrating me. They are supposed to be trained to answer any and all questions. If they answer is not in the reg's then go find the answer and follow up with me. If bodies are needed and you have an able body seeking to re-up, why not do all you can to make it happen unless an act from congress is needed!

Could be any number of reasons. They might have met their mission for the year, as you say, bodies might not be needed. Prior service and waivers in general are a pain, they simply might not have the time. Recruiters are people too, so whoever is giving you the run-around, be frank. Ask exactly what is going on, and if they don't give you an answer, talk to their boss, and so on- just like you would anywhere else.

People tend to treat recruiters like they exist only to serve you, and they need you. Not always the case. Remember that you are more difficult to work than a regular high school kid, and might not be worth the effort for that Recruiter- who is working potentially dozens of other people.
