Home Base Iowa: A Great Program for Vets!

Home Base Iowa is a program that came out in 2014 to attract veterans to the great State of Iowa. When I learned of the program I was living in Wyoming and was looking to relocate to the area. One great change under the program was the state stopped taxing military retirement, which is always a plus for veterans who draw retirement benefits.
I took advantage of the Veteran's Home Buyer Grant which provided $5,000 towards closing/purchase of our home. (Another great option!)
If you are a veteran or transitioning out of the service, you may want to explore what Iowa has to offer for job opportunities. There is a demand for skilled labor and professionals across the state!
