Have you looked at the OCS page on HRC? It will tell you what you need to do and the process. Typically, you will have to go through unit level boards or some sort of evaluation prior to going to a post level board. From there it goes to the Army board. The DUI may be a hindrance and will require at the very least a DA4187 requesting a moral waiver. The only way to see what the Army will allow is to contact HRC as they typically will have the most current standards and requirements.

All that being said, if you are accepted; then make sure your PT is good and don't be a douche. You will be working with a majority of Soldiers that enlisted to become Officers and as such the only thing they know about the military and the Army is what they learned a few weeks prior to OCS in BCT.

Yes most definitely. The Army has been waiting for you! (I'm betting you hit post by accident and will finish the story soon!)

Would a good reccomendation from my CO help to alleviate the fact that I had a dui. Note that this was prior to me joining the army

Be the best at everything. As an officer, the enlisted in your charge are supposed to look up to you. I had an OIC who despite being fully pregnant, you'd still see her running long distance runs. She'd be up on the pullup bar and getting other Marines up there too. Don't settle with just being yourself.

Does the Army know you got a DUI? It's better not mentioning it if you can go that route. This is a 3 phase operation: 1 gain support from leadership. 2 The local board is about an interview with you. 3 The DA board looks at your whole packet. Is there something in the packet that states you had a DUI? Like I said don't mention it unless you want to curtail and kill your chances of going to OCS.

Walk on water, have leaders who praise and support you, have a good APFT average.

You need to provide a little context and background with this kind of question.

The admin changed the title of my question. My man concern is that with my current qualifications is it likely that I would be picked up for ocs, mainly because of a dui

The DUI will currently disqualify you. You can apply for a moral waiver. It's unlikely they would grant it right now. That's not to say that the rules no not become more lenient over time when this draw down passes. Continue to build your resume. Focus on making sergeant. The more you do to show you are a high speed, motivated Soldier, the more apt they will be to grant you a waiver.

Of course you are as long as the gt score is above 110 if I remember right. The dui is probably going to hold things up. I slipped through after the army tried to make an enormous deal about a Dui arrest 15 years before I applied for OCS. It was dismissed after the video showed that yes it was my vehicle but I was not driving... Long story but if they make a big deal about one where i didn't do it and wasn't convicted- you can just imagine what you're up against.

If you apply the Army will clarify this for you. If you don't apply then you obviously would not be competitive in the process. You meet the minimum requirements- go for it. Nobody on here can tell you about the DUI and how the selection board will decide.
