Can someone help me find away. I have been told there are ways around most if not all of the policy. Both chain of commands are aware of the relationship and approves. Only due to being together before the army life.

SPC(P) (Join to see) One suggestion, instead of trying to find ways around policy letters, focus on completing your AIT and then joining the Operational Army. You and your wife can and should be enrolled on the MACP, ask your PSG about it.

If your in a training environment (AIT) then you should abide by those rules. Once you complete training you sign up for the military couple program in order to get assigned together. Since she was in first I would guess that you would have to follow her when she gets orders.

PV2 Aday: the SFC (verify to see) in regards to join'g oper. Army and the Cptn.
(Vet to see) are both on point .. I hope things work themselves out.. I know you want to do what's right(the Army way) just keep grounded to inspection side and press on!! ( Rule 1: there is only one way;
The Army way. Rule 2: in case of confusion.... see rule 1.). (It's the same in all the service branches..)...

How can I be stationed with my wife? Can policy letter 17 really prevent that?

The policies in TRADOC apply while you are in TRADOC. If you are married then you need to submit a DA 4187 for enrollment into the Married Army Couples Program. Once that is approved your branch manager (s) will be able to station you two at the same duty station...eventually. Depending on the timing it could take time to be stationed together.

The letter in question doesn't exactly say you can't be stationed with her. It merely says what the rules are. It refers back to the "The Soldier's Blue Book" TADOC PAM 600-4 for the actual definition. (giving examples that wouldn't "necessarily apply to a married couple").

However, remember you are in a Training Status, and AIT is progressive Privileges. Seek guidance from your leadership, and someone who is familiar with the letter.

Considering you are at Fort Gordon with anywhere from 4 to 6 PSGs in your company, I have to ask..... Have you spoke with your PSG? Also, policy letter 17 means nothing when you leave there.

If that is y'alls command policy then that is that. When I went to FT Sam in '09, in my class there was a husband and wife. During POI, the only time they were together was during formation and class time. Outside of class, they were not allowed to battle buddy each other while on base..........and technically weren't allowed to be together during weekend passes.
