Good Evening! My name is Karizma and I am an AROTC Cadet that is on track to commission this May of 2020. I recently found out I Branched Medical Service Corp!! I am also a graduate student that will have an LMSW prior to graduating this May and I am interested in finding out how I can eventually change MOS from 70B to 73A or which path to take ? If this makes sense?

Cadet 1LT (Join to see) congratulations on your commission as a Medical Service Corps MSC officer. Have you discussed this with the ROTC Cadre? Have you tried reaching out to a Medical Recruiter? (Not the local town recruiter) the other option is to contact the 73A branch manager at HRC.
The issue I think you'll have is that you are on glide path to fill a 70B requirement where you'll likely be a MEDO in a BN or a Platoon leader in a medical formation. This can be a tremendous leadership opportunity for you. You'll likely have to serve some amount of time as a 70B.

Thank you sir for your immediate feedback! Speaking to a recruiter was my next step. Unfortunately my Cadre doesn’t have a lot of information for me. I expect to serve some time as 70B, but wondered how long before I could begin the process of making the switch and how to go about it?
I do appreciate you again !

Cadet 1LT (Join to see) - what has your Cadre told you? Surely it was not a surprise that you earned a professional degree/license. Speak to a Medical Recruiter or 73A Branch Manager at HRC.

LTC Jason Mackay My Cadre told me that they would find someone within that AOC who had answers. I want to be proactive and speak to someone directly. I’ll definitely reach out to a Branch Manager!

You will need a clinical license. Last I heard, there is a program to get that in the Army. Contact an AMEDD Recruitter for details on current program.
