How can I find out if my choice via ASK (Assignment Satisfaction Key) was denied?

SPC (Join to see) ASK is not a denied or accepted application, it's a tool where you put in your preferences and what you would like to volunteer for, and when your branch manager is looking to send you somewhere, they are supposed to look at ASK...but at the end of the day like always, Army comes first, not what you want or need. As for calling your branch manager, you can, but I would ask for your NCO or 1SG's guidance before doing that, or have them contact branch for you.

ASK actually working in your favor? Hahahahahahahahaha! I think the Army put that on the website just to make you THINK you have some kind of input into your career. I would do what SSG Howell suggested. But FIRST, get some stripes. The first time I called my Branch Assignments person as a Specialist, I was essentially told to go piss up a rope and that I would go where the Army wanted me. Once I became a NCO, I was actually talked to like a human being and got to at least get my HAAP of choice after I did a year in Korea (Needs of the Army).

Already have, a couple emails and voice mails later I still haven't received a reply.
