How can I find out the status on a reenlistment bonus?

I reenlisted on 31 May 2018. No sign of my reenlistment bonus. I’ve called DFAS and they said they have no progress on it as well. It has updated on my ERB and LES but is not on my iperms. I need to know how to go about getting answers because my Career Counselor isn’t providing much assistance.

Good luck i renlisted 3 times I'm still waiting for my bonuses.....ngb holds everything up. Should have had two of them in 2014. I completed another 3 year contract and was supposed to see the 3rd bonus in 2018. Maybe I will see it when I retire. God forbid you owe the government money they would take it from you tomorrow.

It has been less than a month. Why would a career counselor know about Finance problems- Why not see Finance???

I also reenlisted in August 2021 and i have my onus addendum on my iperms but i still didnt receive my bonus yet. I tried contacting my readiness nco also tried my chain of command nothing worked. after the first year and a half I tried reaching out to finance and nothing worked either so, I tried GIMS to seek for answers and went blank. Lastly at the start of this year I put in a IG complaint about my bonus but I still have no answers and I dont know where to find them so I was hoping I could get some help

They said my husband name came up on the November list for the bonus, what does that mean will he get it this month or next month. We really need to know something.

His unit will need to initiate the bonus process. However, the system is down and from what I was told will be down until June!!!! The system is GIMS. His retention and/or readiness NCO would typically go in to the system and validate that all of his requirements are met - still in MOS, passed APFT uploaded, etc., check all the boxes, send up to NGB to approve. From that point, it usually takes about 3 months to process. His retention NCO could then look in GIMS at the status. But as I mentioned, the system is down. I believe it went down sometime in September.

System is back up. Manual payment requests were being sent up to NGB as well. My manual payment request was sent up on Feb 19 and I have an LES for Mar 22. You can always reach out to your state incentive manager for assistance as well. They more than likely have a Facebook page because they are the same office that handles tuition assistance and other benefits.

Bonuses take about a month to be paid, unless you're going to training, and then it's after your training. However a message was just released saying bonuses sent over the last month are so were delayed. Your Career Counselor can look on the DJMS report to see the status of your bonus.

I'm still waiting on my re-enlistment bonus. My ETS was 28AUG2018, with new ETS of 28AUG2024. Career Counselor said that everything has been processes, ERB, Iperms and DJMS as of 03SEP2018. Its going to be 30days tomorrow. Just wondering what the heck is going on.

As I said, there was a message released saying bonuses that were paid recently have been delayed by about 2 weeks. As long as your bonus is good in DJMS you'll be paid. There is one single person at DFAS who pays all the bonuses for the Army.

Damn, that sucks. I really wish they would put a little more effort into paying these on time. One person at DFAS for the Army is not enough.

I still haven’t seen mines as well. I re-enlisted while on deployment. My ETS date was May 2, 2018 now 2020. Still haven’t seen mines. My retention NCO said it was “wired”. But still haven’t see it on my MyPay. Keep me posted plz.

1. Why the Career Counselor? If he did the paperwork, then it is a Finance problem. 2. DFAS can only report on what has been processed to them. I suggest you start with your PAC/S1 or unit finance folks, and then move upward thru to the Post level G1/Finance.

There has been a new way that reenlistment has been processed. I had gone directly to my s1 and ua, who went through hurdles. It turns out that it falls back to the career counselor and must be proceed through a system that only the career counselors have access to. As far as I was made aware renlistment bonus will take up to 90 days from ETS date. I too signed my papers on 31/3/2018 my ets was 15/7/2018 meaning 16/7/2018 will start the first day of renlistment 90 days from that will be in October. That’s what I was advised anyway. Actually for reenlistment bonuses, if the SM hasn't received it, it's the Career Counselor error and the Career Counselor responsibility to fix.

SGT (Join to see) 90 days? What? Ewww no. It takes 30 days from the reenlistment date. Unless you're reserves or NG, who each use a different system that is completely different from the way AD pays it.
