How can this be a secret when it's in the press?

... no it is not a secret ... it is a publicity move ...

This brings up another issue. Why do we advertise everything we do? We even release outlines of war plans, aircraft movements, and personnel relocations to the media. Everyone feels like they are entitled to know everything. What ever happened to surprise and "shock and awe"? A little secrecy goes a long way.
