How can you tell if someone is an ungrateful leader? What can cause a negative change in leadership?

Negative leaders tend to think about themselves a lot and will degrade and threaten subordinates.

Yes Sir, it's almost like they make a habit of speaking with out thinking, " at all " about the ones that allow them to maintain that spot of authority they are in. I myself will never understand how a person can become so self centered in one lifetime?

I couldn't agree more! When I transitioned from enlisted to officer I had more ungrateful leaders than I did while enlisted. Usually, when others come to you or your peers for assistance and not the boss/leader, the leader tends to get jealous and insecure. You've accomplished a mission for them, they just don't see it that way. They only see that they were not the first POC. Once that happens they begin to treat you poorly. Stand up to them and it can backfire. I've been there! the best thing you can do is learn what you would not do from this leader so you don't make the same mistakes. You can learn a lot from a toxic leader!
