My Dad told me that my 18th birthday present was everything that he paid for that I considered my personal property, but I would have to start paying rent. The rent was equal to 90% of my take home pay if a worked a minimum wage job for 40 hours a week, for the whole month. I would also be responsible for all the same chores, plus his.

I was rar'in to go on my own -- I couldn't get out fast enough. I left for boot the day after I graduated at 17. (Needed permission, but they were happy to give it).

Maj John Bell My parents were both deceased and my brother and I were living with my sister and her husband. I went to Boot Camp after high school graduation.

I was already in Delayed Entry, went to boot camp 2 months after H.S. graduation.

PO1 Brian Austin SSgt Charles L Gotcha both beat. I DEP'd at the end of 11th (needed permission, I was 17), and flew to boot the day after graduation.
