I was in the Air Force for a month and got discharged with an ELS RE-4C JFW for a misdiagnosis by the Air Force Physician on base when I went in for a major muscle pull in my back. I applied for the Discharge Review Board in March of 2018 and was granted relief in early March of 2019 with a Reenlistment Code and Separation Code and Separation Reason upgrade to ELS, RE-3K KFF with a Secretarial Authority. I am going back in Monday to talk to my old Recruiter from a few years ago and was wondering. How difficult would it be to receive a waiver for a RE-3K KFF, seeing as it is a waiverable code and I am able to re-enlist with said code. During my time off I completed about 25 credits of college and I am a current Firefighter/EMT and currently doing a few more medical classes, so should those possibly help with my possibility of getting back in along with my full medical paperwork, or should I just wait for his response and MEPS? I do know my paperwork was previously accepted by MEPS when I tried for the Army and during that time I am still awaiting a MFR from USAREC, but since I got this news I am looking at the Air Force again.
ELIGIBLE TO REENLIST
AIR FORCE RE-1, 1J, 1M, 1P, 1Q, 1T, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, 3I, 3K, 6B, RE-12, 13, 14
KFF - Secretarial Authority, to be discharged or retire as an officer
I also know from the AFPC.AF.MIL Retention Site they also state "There is one exception: If the AFDRB upgrades an applicant's discharge, the Board will also consider whether the RE code should be changed. If the applicant is considered a good candidate to return to the military, the RE code will be changed to "3K"--a waiverable code. "
I also do realize that there are other topics of RE-3 ELS Reenlistment Ect...But none specifically stating a re-enlistment for a Discharge Review Board Upgrade, especially with a RE-3K and KFF.

You state misdiagnosis, then you never say what it was. Reentry to the military is always dificult as they have new recruits available. The military will always take on new recruits before administering waivers. I am not saying to give up, I am saying it is difficult and be patient. The good news is that it sounds like you are doing well. Thank you for your service.

They had diagnosed me with Chronic Back Pain, essentially went through the questioning of "Have you had this and that." then they asked "Have you ever had back pain before?" and the thought with that was hmm, I mean, my backs hurt before, Never really had many problems, apart from when I was overweight, which I disclosed and such on my MEPS work. So she checked that and that is essentially what started it. A few weeks later they had told me they would be discharging me for Chornic Back Pain/EPTE and not disclosing medical records. After I was sent home I had decided to fight that. I went home and got a full medical physical, x-ray and physical therapy done and sent my paperwork in for Discharge Review last year and got it granted this year after they found what was said versus what I had or didnt have was misdiagnosed and nothing matched what the doctor had stated. But thank you for the response. I'm gonna go in Monday and see everything I can do and keep fighting, already fought a whole year for this, why not fight a little more. Again, thank you for the response!

As for an update: just retook my ASVAB today so it seems to be going smoothly and good.
Sounds like your making a lot of people do work to be undecided what branch you want. I hope you told the Army your looking into both, and not just stringing every one along
