I’ve been trying to go to ranger school for some time now. I know I’m suppose to go to my schools NCO but he’s not the best at doing his job. I would like to know what documents and other materials go into making a packet to attend ranger school. That way the process can be made less difficult and things won’t somehow “get lost” or “not get filed”.

Depend on your location but normally they need 4187, DD93, SGLV, Ranger physical from provider. I would be able to help you if you are station in Hawaii or anywhere in Pacific region.

There was no packet to submit for a slot when I went. My training NCO went onto ATRRS and submitted a school application for me. That is all. If you require a waiver, the list of necessary docs can be found on the school website. Once you get a Reserved status, then you would need to build a packet to in-process on the first day of the course.

If the army still does 4187. That's all you need. If you're not P qualifed you might want to go airborne first. If your not in good physical shape then get there.
