I was recently promoted to E-5 and want to make sure my ASUs are squared away. My first question is the NCO professional development ribbon. I was told I needed this after being promoted but it’s not in my srb. What documents do I need to send to s1 to get it on there? Next is the good conduct ribbon. I meet all the criteria for the award. Do I have to be recommended for this award or can I talk to chain of command and remind them I qualify so that I can receive it? Lastly does anyone know any websites where I can get a good pair of nco asu trousers? My clothing and sales said there is a 2+ month long wait now for ordering through them due to a shortage.

- NCOPDR: You have to pass BLC before you recieve the NCOPDR.
- Good Conduct: You must have 3 years of creditable good conduct, and the Commander must sign "yes" on the AAA monthly report.
- MarlowWhite has the best uniforms and accessories.

Cpl Steven Horsley if you don't know the difference between a uniform store and a military branch, there's an argument to be made that fashion comes at the expense of ASVAB percentages ;)

SFC Michael Hasbun :D but what you meant to add was "... for the army." Cuz "the best uniforms and accessories" belongs to the U.S. of mick! Raaah!
(Honestly I'm just bored at lunch and felt like stirring the pot just a touch)

Your NCOPDR isn't always submitted by the school house as a lot of my NCO's learned. You need your 1059 from BLC and a 4187 to be submitted through your S1 to get the award added. S1 or your awards clerk should have a template for the NCOPDR among other awards.
The GCM is usually just a memo signed by the commander and sent up, you may need to remind someone you're eligible. Some will say service awards are automatic, and they're right, but the people who are supposed to submit them are not.
I ended up as an awards clerk assisting our admin OIC and it was an interesting if sometimes nightmarish experience. No two S1 shops operate the same way, and every unit has different standards on submitting and processing awards.

SPC (Join to see) when you complete BLC, you will be authorized the ribbon, assuming you are active duty, your commander should sign off on good conduct medal, your S1 will get it put on your SRB, as far as the trousers go, go to http://www.aafes.com they have a clothing sale link on it to order trousers
