How do I input (DTMS) a pistol qualification (Form 88-R) for a new soldier to the unit when there is no 'pistol' option available?

The last time I had to enter weapons qual in DTMS, under the qual tab and picking weapon type, my only options were M-16 or 9mm. There was nothing that said "pistol" specifically.

Ended up finding/contacting the Help Desk... Seems the fix was going to the "Organization" tab on the left, selecting the unit, and then adding to the "Weapons Rollup".

You have to add that pistol to your weapons. It's the tab to the left. Our DTMS is down currently or i would look t up to directly get you step by step

Your issue is an MTOE one. The M9 is not listed as a line item weapon for the Soldier's position.
In order to fix it, you have to add the weapons system under organization.
I had the same issue when we got M2s.
