How do I start the MED Board process from the IRR?

I was transferred to the IRR because my spouse is active duty and we live OCONUS. I have a list of medical conditions and a recent diagnosis that call for an eval. I have not deployed with 5 years of service in the reserves.

IMHO:
Start with ‘Sick Call’!
Doctors’ Evaluation This Year!
From There, go through Chain of Command. Document EVERYTHING!
Ask for MEB ASAP!
Call or email me for assistance! [login to see]

FYI: I requested Medical Discharge from Army in 1987!
I represented myself at MEB at Walter Reed Medical Center in DC!
I am 100% Service-Connected Disabled Army Veteran.

Either visit a military medical provider or attend an SRP....or contact LHI.

You should have received a sponsoring unit when you transferred. Contact that organization.

A MEB (meidcal evaluation board - to determine if you are fit to serve) is initiated after a P3 profile is written. In order to get a profile, you would need to see a doctor. You can have your PCM write something up and submit it to your POC at HRC or you can request a PHA. A failing condition will get you evaluated. You will not be medically separated like active duty service members.
Or you can stay in the IRR until your contract is over and just ETS.
P.S. There are OCONUS reserve units. Going to the IRR was a choice, not the only one. It is harder to get help and find POCs while in the IRR.

Thank you for the information. I will call HRC.
I am aware there are OCONUS reserve units. There were multiple reasons to go into the IRR. The decision to go into the IRR was not a choice. We are dual military and lack a family care plan due to the OCONUS move. So the IRR is the only option. If anything changes then I can come out of the IRR at any time.
I just do not see the purpose in coming out of the IRR to be placed on a permanent profile.
