So for all the vets here, how do y'all deal with someone trying to call you "Stolen Valor" in a polite way? Even if they are being aggressive about it? I've been out on a MEB for almost a year now and there's a store in my state with "Superhero Parking" for Vets, Active Duty, Law enforcement and firefighters, while I haven't parked there yet, I'm sure once I do someone will attempt to say something about it. I have my VA Card and my driver's license says Veteran on it and I have an entire album in my phone with pictures of my army times. Now what if this isn't enough to get them to back off? How can I politely tell them they're wrong and to drop the situation?

As a Woman we do not even get a " Thank you for service or salute"... For a parking, take it...
You know what you did & most them who speak up didn't or couldn't survive Boot Camp (end of story). It's a PRIDE thing a none active person could not understand!...

I got out in 1990, and I have never had anyone question my using g a " reserved for Veterans " space. I think you may be overthinking it here to be brutally honest.

First ID yourself with the VA ID. If that fails ID yourself with the combat training.

I have been retired for more than thirty years, I proudly wear my US Army Retired hat with a few pins stuck on it, park in the "veterans" spaces at home depot and lowe's. I've never had anyone question my service. I am proud of my service, but i don't walk around with a medal of honor or spanish american campaign ribbon either. I am what i am, and don't claim to be anything else.

Ignore them in the store and kick their ass in the parking lot. Jk. Ignore them.

Why worry about it? If you’re honest, is it an issue? That’s so far from my mind, I’ve never thought about that.

Mark, evidently, this is an issue, but I see it. Over the past 25 years, I haven't cared or kept up with all the changes in the military. I agree with you, I have more important things to do than worry about a Vet in uniform [or a non-Vet].

I know what store you are talking about, We have them here too. I appreciate that they do this but I don't park in them. I save them for the Heroes that need a little closer spot.

I'm not sure how I'd respond. I haven't had that happen yet.
