So for all the vets here, how do y'all deal with someone trying to call you "Stolen Valor" in a polite way? Even if they are being aggressive about it? I've been out on a MEB for almost a year now and there's a store in my state with "Superhero Parking" for Vets, Active Duty, Law enforcement and firefighters, while I haven't parked there yet, I'm sure once I do someone will attempt to say something about it. I have my VA Card and my driver's license says Veteran on it and I have an entire album in my phone with pictures of my army times. Now what if this isn't enough to get them to back off? How can I politely tell them they're wrong and to drop the situation?

I am reluctant to show my pride as a Vietnam ERA veteran. Too many male vets hated us being active duty, taking a safe billet from a man, unable to serve shipboard, etc. It's easier for me to smile and nod, but indifference is different than being accused of stolen Valor, I suppose.

Ignore the dim ones Kathy, some veterans can be weird about shit, male chauvinism and racist especially. An plainly speaking I respect you more for showing up in place of the 99% of the draft dodging civil sissy men:) Because as a woman you are not obligated, making you twice more then the draft dodgers and 45 year old want-to-be-militia running around with weapons they pose more danger to themselves and thire family then a perceived bogymen. Join the American Legion and toss that misplaced discomfort for the company of americans who at least showed up Kathy. It will do you good and you will run into candy stripers, RN and others who got some of that treatment, unity will lift your spirits and bring back the good memories. As you were....:)

Forget pictures, ID's etc. Simply tell them that you read the sign, you qualify, and you earned it, then walk away.

While you did enlist by choice, you still deserve the dignity and respect from all for your faithful service to this blessed country. You have my thanks and gratitude. There will always be someone who has nothing better to do than challenge our veterans. Stans tall and proud!

no offense my friend but are you looking for a confrontation that may not even happen? You need to talk to your VA person because I see no one out there that shows those signs of agression . do you?

I show them my surgery scares, Then ask them where are there's?
Since most of us have them from one injury or anther.
I also tell them that the people that tell the most war story's and bitch about the most have not done a dam thing.

Usually, they will be referring to the "immortal PX Heroes". If there is a question as to whether you can use that spot, you should whip out your VA Card and ask them for theirs. should they state that they have/know of a relative/friend that is worse off than you, you should thank them for THEIR service and ask them for their credentials.

I just tell them that I would be glad to give them a demonstration on the capabilities of a military soldier, i.e. hand to hand combat.

I can relate. I am Vietnam veteran, (H Co.Ranger trained by 5th Gp.) But never went through Airborne school prior to that, or Ranger school Stateside. Instead we volunteered for "selection" a tough 3 week course that saw over 100 candidates try, and our class had 7 survivors. After that I served for 6 years with 20th Gp, jumped with them, had orders for Mobilization for Panama, Gaddafi, others..but the point is I am not tabbed anything,. I am "scrolled" am in Special Forces Association, and Rangers Association. And almost.got.into a couple of fist fights with REMFs who as you said tried to.call me out. I was vetted by National at.Ft. Bragg and Benning/Ft. Lewis (2nd Bn) finally it came down to what someone above said about Dr. Seuss, and I found that the ones who talked loudest and were most upset, had never really done shit downrange, if at all.
